Division of Energy Regulation

Transmission Line Projects

Approval to construct and operate a transmission line and/or facilities of 150 kilovolts or more (and, optionally, 138 kilovolts) must be granted by the State Corporation Commission via issuance of a certificate of public convenience and necessity (CPCN). The application for a CPCN must include a digital geographic information system (GIS) map for posting on the Commission’s website.

Information for all cases before the Commission is made available through the SCC's DocketSearch portal. Public comments related to Commission cases are accepted for a limited time. Cases for which comments are currently being accepted are listed on the Public Comments/Notices page.
