Consumer Assistance

Here at the Bureau of Insurance, we truly believe that our mission is to provide assistance to Virginia citizens who have questions or problems involving insurance. We cannot solve every problem, but please give us a chance to try to help. We do not claim to work miracles, but we are, in many cases, successful in achieving positive results. In an average year, in addition to providing many forms of assistance that have nothing to do with money, our staff is responsible for having more than $10 million returned to Virginia consumers in the form of refunds, benefit payments, changed claim determinations, and the like.
