The SCC's Counsel to the Commission provides advice and legal counsel
to the Commissioners and provides separation between the Commissioners and Staff when required by statute or Commission policy.
The office is divided into two specialty categories: utility and business/financial.
Two attorneys serve as Counsel to the Commission, focusing on their respective areas
of expertise when applicable, and working in concert on matters of general interest
affecting the Commission.
Prohibited from providing legal advice to the
public, the office can provide information of a general nature regarding
