Mandated Benefits Reporting
Mandated Benefits reports are not due May 1, 2017
By order entered February 13, 2017 in Case Number INS-2016-00223, the State Corporation Commission adopted revisions to the Rules Governing the Reporting of Cost and Utilization Data Relating to Mandated Benefits and Mandated Providers (14 VAC 5-190 of the Virginia Administrative Code) effective March 1, 2017. As specified in this order, no Form 190-A reports are required to be filed in 2017, but instead, health insurers required to file reports with the Bureau must do by May 1, 2018 and every other year thereafter.
Thus, no reports are due for reporting year 2016 until May 1, 2018, at which time reports will be due for reporting years 2016 AND 2017.
The reporting form for BOTH 2016 and 2017 reporting years is shown below. Separate forms for 2016 and 2017 must be submitted by May 1, 2018.
