Annual Renewal Letters
An annual renewal letter was mailed to all companies in December 2012. A web version
of the annual renewal letter is available for the following company types: Automobile
Clubs, Premium Finance Companies, Viatical Settlement Providers, Purchasing Groups,
Multiple Employer Welfare Arrangements, and Workers Compensation Group-Self Insurers.
Each web version letter includes links to appropriate forms, and is available by
renewal letter entry screen.
Electronic Annual License Renewal and Financial Filing Submission Portal
Companies are encouraged to submit eligible documents through the
Annual License Renewal and Financial Filing Submission Portal..
In addition, companies should review FAQs regarding the
Virginia domestic companies must continue to send annual and quarterly statements
in hard copy. Other renewal documents should be submitted through the portal unless
All foreign companies and accredited reinsurers, excluding health maintenance organizations
(HMOs) and dental plan organizations (DPOs), that file their NAIC annual statement
blank and related supplements with the NAIC are exempt from filing a hard copy of
these items with the Bureau. These filings should be submitted to the NAIC via electronic
media in accordance with due dates established by the NAIC.
At this time, the following company types are not eligible
to file documents through the portal: Continuing Care Retirement Communities, Municipal
Liability Pools, and Workers Compensation Group Self-Insurers.

Virginia Specific Financial and License Renewal Forms
Annual statement and quarterly filings for Virginia domestic companies must be submitted
to P.O. Box 1157, Richmond, VA 23218 or by messenger, 1300 East Main Street, 1st
Floor Mail Room, Richmond, VA 23219. All other forms should be submitted via the
Annual License Renewal and Financial Filing Submission Portal. PLEASE DO NOT SEND RENEWAL FORMS TO THE ADMINISTRATIVE TAX UNIT
OF THE BUREAU OF INSURANCE.
